The Stolen Crown Part 1

ORT2冊(Part1 & Part2)の長編です。BiffとChipがMagic Key Adventureで中世のお城にタイムスリップします。明日は王になるという王子に拡大鏡をプレゼントします。王冠(crown)が盗まれるというストーリーですから、色画用紙で作った王冠をかぶって授業をしました。レッスンが終わる頃には王冠をかぶった子どもが何人かいました。すぐに作ってみたのですね。オンライン授業では見せたものにすぐ反応があります。

3. Funny English: idioms with body parts

英語力の高い子ども向けに作りました。左からput my foot in my mouth, eyes in the back of one’s head, keep my fingers crossedです。

「I’m keeping all fingers crossed! 」と両手を見せてくれた子どもがいました。このお子さんは彩子先生が大好きでレッスンの最初に「Where’s Ayako?」と質問したほどです。「Keep your fingers crossed so Ayako sensei will return next week!」と言うとにこにこしました。

4. Castle words

dungeonのように見慣れない難しい単語もあります。「If you have read Harry Potter series, you saw the word dungeon many times.」と補足すると、すぐにHarry Potterの本を見せてくれた子どもがいました。「I’m re-reading it.」だそうです。

読み終わってから「This is my magnifying glass.」と見せました。子どもたち笑いました。子どもたちが笑うとホッとして嬉しくなります。他のことを忘れる楽しい時間にしてあげたいのです。
